Angel Pilago, Member Brittany Smart, Member Dominic Yagong, Member Comm. 763: PRESENTATION REGARDING THE HAWAII COUNTY FOOD SELF - SUFFICIENCY BASELINE STUDY 2012 From Research and Development Director Randall M. Kurohara, dated May 30, 2012, stating that their department will be presenting the findings of the Hawai`i County Food Self - Sufficiency Baseline Study 2012. This study_ was one of the recommended County actions listed in the 2010 County of Hawai`i Agriculture Development Plan and approved by the County Council in 2011. It provides a benchmark to show us where Hawai`i County is in food self - sufficiency and what resources we have to apply to the task of producing more food locally. County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer AWESC -9 Comm. 783: ADJOURNMENT — 5:45 p.m. Page 2 July 31, 2012 PRESENTATION BY HAWAII HARVEST From Council Member J Yoshimoto, dated July 11, 2012, stating that Hawai`i Harvest is a group of church members who harvest fresh produce and donates them to the Food Basket. Last year, Hawai`i Harvest collected and delivered over 6,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables. They would like to share some information regarding their group.
