SUBJECT: Update on Hilo Adult Care Center
I would like to request 30 minutes at the August 15, 2012 Council Meeting for an update
on the Hilo Adult Day Care Center by Paula Uusitalo, the Executive Director of the
Hawai`i Island Adult Care, Inc.
Ms. Uusitalo would like to update the Council on the outcome of her efforts to lobby the
State Legislature. She and I, along with Mr. Keith Kato of the Hawai`i Island
Community Development Corporation, met with various state legislators in March and
would like to advise the Council of the next steps required to secure funding.
