RESOLUTION NO. 290 12
A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT A NEW HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL ALTERNATE
REPRESENTATIVE TO SERVE ON THE HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF
COUNTIES (HSAC) EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 231-12 adopted on March 21, 2012, appointed Council
Member K. Angel Pilago as the representative to serve on the Executive Committee of the
Hawai`i State Association of Counties (HSAC) and Council Member Brittany Smart as Hawai`i
County HSAC alternate; and
WHEREAS,both Council Member K. Angel Pilago, and Council Member Brittany
Smart will not serve as HSAC Representative and Alternate after their terms expire on December
3, 2012; and
WHEREAS,the HSAC Executive Committee recommends Council Member K. Angel
Pilago fulfill his appointment as HSAC Representative from Hawai`i County for the remainder
of his term; and
WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee recommends continuity after the new
council term, December 3, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Dennis "Fresh" Onishi will be a returning councilmember and has the
experience, commitment and willingness to serve as Hawai`i County Council alternate
representative to HSAC; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Council Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi, be, and is hereby appointed to replace Council Member
Brittany Smart as alternate representative to the Executive Committee of HSAC.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the County Clerk transmit copies of this resolution
to the President and Secretary of HSAC.
