Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 779, reports as follows:
Communication No. 779, transmitted by Finance Nancy Crawford, dated July 13, 2012,
authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Mr. Diego M. Tebaldi, Global Government
Regulatory Affairs, LoJack Corporation, of the following donation:
1) One ASUS 27" LCD monitor; valued at approximately $280 to be utilized by the
Office of the Prosecuting Attorney in a conference room.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money. Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30,
Section 2-162(c), Hawaii County Code, any donation or gift which does not fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance shall be submitted to the Council by
letter for its approval.
First Deputy Prosecutor Dale Ross appeared before Your Committee. Ms. Ross commented this
was received by a visitor giving a presentation at a conference in Waikoloa whom generously
donated this monitor to the Office of Prosecuting Attorney. This was an unsolicited donation.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Diego M. Tebaldi, Global Government Regulatory
Affairs, LoJack Corporation, 40 Pequot Way, Hampton, MA 02021.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the donation described above.
