Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B /R) Comm. 797: AUTHORIZES THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI -YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE (Res. 286 -12) PROPERTY OWNER OF THE PROJECT SELECTED FOR THE SECTION 8 PROJECT BASED CERTIFICATION PROGRAM The purpose of the Section 8 Project -Based Voucher Program is to encourage property owners to make available rental housing units to low- income families that are not within the current housing fair market rents. The Office of Housing and Community Development would like to assist 79 units in the County of Hawaii under the funding available for this purpose, which include the following projects: Na Kahua Hale O Ulu Wini located in Kailua -Kona (39 vouchers), E Komo Mai located in Hilo (11 vouchers), and the proposed Kamakana Senior Residences located in Kailua -Kona (29 vouchers). Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B /R) FC -40 Page 3 August 14, 2012 Comm. 798: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 12 -87, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO PUBLIC (Bill 285) IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2012 TO JUNE 30, 2013 Adds Public Works: Manono Street Improvements — Federal ($500,000); funds shall be provided from Federal Grants Receivable ($500,000). Funds would be used to widen and improve Manono Street from Lanikaula Street to Kekuana6`a Street to enhance traffic, pedestrian, ADA, and bicycle circulation, and to improve drainage in the area.
