RE: County of Hawaii Bill 270,Draft#6 or#7—comment
Dear Honorable Chairman and Council Members;
At this time we cannot support or oppose the Hawai'i County Council adoption of Bill
270 in it's current Draft#6 or Draft#7 form. After the 2nd reading passage of Draft#3 in
July 2011 there have been numerous amendments in the form of Council
Communications. These amendments have not been publicly available in a format that
facilitates comparison of the current draft to the thoroughly reviewed Draft#3. There are
bits and pieces in various communications with scarce indication of which items have
ended up in the latest draft.The latest versions of the Bill seem to have bypassed the
second Committee reading and first Council reading.
We believe it to be ill advised to pass this Bill without proper review.
