To whom it may concern,
At the Leilani Estates Homeowners Association regularly scheduled meeting on May 101h, 2012, a
motion was made, and passed unanimously, with reference to a committee of Association members
seeking to create an emergency relief center on Leilani Estates community property. The Board of
Directors had previously been provided with a detailed set of documents regarding the plan and the
funding necessary for a relief center. The motion is to support the efforts of this committee and asked
them to explore all available options for funding.
The Leilani Estates Homeowners Association is not currently involved in negotiations with this
committee, the County of Hawaii, Hawaii Civil Defense, or any other agency. However our Charter of
incorporation filed in 1969 specifically charges us"to cooperate with civic and public organizations for
the general welfare of the people of the Island of Hawaii and the State of Hawaii" With that in mind we
are open to the opportunity of hosting a Relief Center and wait to hear back from the Committee.
