Subject: Fwd: Letter Opposing Erradication
Re: Bill 261
Good Morning Council Members of Hawaii,
My name is Vincent Rubio and I am in favor of stopping the aerial and/or ground eradication of
any species of wildlife. Eradication is a drastic step of controlling a species, and open dialogue
must be approached. Both with the people of the Big Island, being hunters and non hunters, and
government.
Other alternatives must be reached, so that the animals can be either hunted or driven to a public
area to be hunted. This not only provides families to put food on their table, especially in these
hard economic times, it also provides younger generations to learn what their ancestors have
done to survive. This could possibly result in a more sustainable and adaptable future
generation.
Aloha,
Vincent Rubio
