Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No.
1077, and attached Bill No. 339, reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 339 is to add one additional parking stall along Kahoa Street at the
Honolii Beach Pazk for use by County lifeguards and emergency vehicles.
Communication No. 1077 is from Jiro A. Sumada, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Department
of Public Works, dated October 26, 1998, transmitting Bill No. 339 for the Council's review
and consideration. Mr. Sumada states that the request came from the Hawaii County Police
Department. He also states that his staff contacted the Department of Parks and Recreation
regarding this request, and received support of this proposal.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 339, and recommends
that it pass first reading.
