Serving the Interests of the People of our Island Hawai`i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer GRC -28 UNFINISHED BUSINESS Comm. 786: (Res. 279 -12) Comm. 786.1: Comm. 787: (Res. 280 -12) ADJOURNMENT Page 2 September 5, 2012 AMENDS THE RULES' OF PROCEDURE AND ORGANIZATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII BY AMENDING RULE NO. 13, PUBLIC STATEMENTS AND TESTIMONY, RELATING TO VIDEO TESTIMONY Amends Rule No. 13, Public Statements and Testimony, by adding provisions regarding the submission of video testimony from any member of the public. Intr. by: Mr. Hoffmann Postponed: July 31, 2012 (Note: There is a pending motion by Mr. Hoffmann and duly seconded by Mr. Yagong to approve Resolution 279 -12. This measure was placed on the August 14, 2012 Committee agenda, however, this meeting was cancelled due to technical difficulties.) ;and From Council Member Pete Hoffmann, dated August 10, 2012, transmitting proposed amendments to Resolution 279 -12. The amendments relate to the "Be it Further Resolved" clause, and Item 2 (Video Testimony). URGES THE HAWAII STATE LEGISLATURE TO ADEQUATELY FUND BOTH THE HAWAII CAMPAIGN SPENDING COMMISSION AND A STATEWIDE COMPREHENSIVE PUBLIC FUNDING SYSTEM FOR ELECTIONS States that the State Legislature take immediate action to adequately fund the Hawai`i Campaign Spending Commission and a statewide comprehensive program upon convening the 2013 legislative session, and that the Council of the County of Hawai`i supports legislative efforts to expand comprehensive public funding throughout the state.
