Re: Operating Budget
The State Department of Transportation Public Affairs - Safe Community Program is
providing an additional funding of$10,280 to the Hawaii County Police Department's
Traffic Investigation program. The grant funds will be used to allow the Hawaii County
Police Department to increase the number of officers trained in traffic crash
reconstruction and other traffic crash-related courses. In the current fiscal year's
budget, $20,000 was appropriated in anticipation of this grant.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the
additional funds into the Traffic Investigation program account and bringing the total
grant appropriation to $30,280.
