SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
SECTION 24-288 — REVISED FREIGHT LOADING — PONAHAWAI ST
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10 (Schedules), Division 6
(Loading Zones), Section 24-288, Schedule 36 (Freight Loading Zones), subsection (c)
South Hilo be amended by revising existing item:
(20) Ponahawai Street, Puueo NORTHWEST side, aka FROM A POINT
NINETEEN FEET SOUTHWEST of Punahoa Street, thirty five feet AND
EXTENDING THIRTY TWO FEET IN THE SOUTHWESTERLY DIRECTION.
This amendment is necessary to allow for enough space to relocate an existing ADA
parking stall away from the driveway of parcel 2-3-09:05. The intent is to relocate the
stall without losing any parking in this heavily used area of Ponahawai Street.
A location map is attached for your reference.
