Dear Councilmembers ,
I ask that you do not override the veto of Bill
256 . As a resident of Leilani Estates I feel that this
bill is unnecessary and unjustified. There has been a
law in place for over 20 years that has allowed
residents of the buffer zone to apply for relocation .
Which I may remind you, over the past 20 year there
have been no reported health concerns related to the
PGV to justify this action .
The theatrical testimonies given by people, some of
which do not live in the area, was of great concern to
me as a citizen and voter . I question why people are
willing to go to such lengths and manipulate facts and
spread hearsay, some of which is total fabrication .
Were you able to secure the documented medical evidence
from local Doctors , and not by a group paid to compile
comments? Then I ask myself, were the council members
able to discern fact from fiction? I certainly hope
so .
There is no scientific basis for increasing the
buffer zone . If people want more monitors , the monies
from the asset fund are available and have been
available for the past 20 years .
Geothermal is a renewal resource . It is available
here, it has been working . Why now all of a sudden is
this a target of a group of people who protest with
emotions and not facts .
I am a member of the silent majority who does not
succumb to the minority of aggressive and vocal
demonstrators . I rely on scientific and documented
information not scare tactics . Therefore I request
that you do not override the veto of Bill 256 .
