I am a member of the obviously silent majority who want safe geothermal operations to expand on our island. Having lived in the Philippines and been in Iceland, I know that geothermal can be operated safely and beneficially for the facilities' neighbours. As a resident of Leilani Estates, while not being in the "buffer zone", my property values will be impacted. I believe all of Leilani will become a perceived risk area. I will also have to pay for upkeep of roads for properties effectively condemned under Bill 256. I have found no credible research showing that geothermal facilities have produced any health risks; indeed, the State's research supports the safety of existing operations. The cost for administering this bill will far exceed the funds available. I continue to believe Bill 256 is a knee-jerk political reaction by some to respond to a minority of vocal residents. Please vote no on this expensive, non-sustainable bill, and, if you are truly concerned about citizens, put it before voters as a ballot measure. Please vote NO. Thank you, Bibbi (Vivienne) Lee 13-3626 Kumakahi St. - Pahoa, HI 96778 ` ? - sil Comm. N•. .1 • J 02-• Ref.To: ° Ref. Date t I 7/18/2012
