Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 229,
reports as follows:
Communication No. 229 is transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated Mazch 31, 1999,
nominating Paul K. Johnston, of Mountain View to the Hawaii County Veterans Advisory
Committee to replace Jimmy Enocencio of Hilo, who has resigned. If approved, Mr. Johnston will
serve the balance of the unexpired term which will end on December 31, 2000, and he will be
deemed an unattached member of the committee.
Mr. Johnston has been retired since 1992, and prior to that, he was an educator with the State of
Hawaii Department of Education at Castle High School from 1975 through 1992. Mr. Johnston is
a member of the Keaukaha Athletic Club and the Big Island Police Golf Club.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks recommends the confirmation of Paul K. Johnston
to the Hawaii County Veterans Advisory Committee.
