Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 285, reports as follows:
Bill No. 285, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 798,
dated July 26, 2012, amends Ordinance No. 12-87, as amended, relating to Public Improvements
and Financing thereof for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013. This will add an
appropriation for Manono Street Improvements, from Lanikaula Street to Kekuanao`a Street in
the amount of$500,000. This project is to widen and improve Manono Street from Lanikaula
Street to Kekuanao`a Street in order to enhance traffic, pedestrian, ADA, and bicycle
circulation, and to improve drainage in this area.
This appropriation for federal funding is needed for the planning, design, and Right of Way
acquisition portion of this project.
Public Works Deputy Director Brandon Gonzalez appeared before Your Committee and was
available at the meeting.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 285, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
