Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 172,
and attached Resolution No. 53-99, reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 53-99 is to authorize the request for removal of parking meter
heads within the area affected by the parking meter moratorium in downtown Hilo.
Communication No. 172 is from Council Member B. J. Leithead-Todd, dated
February 15, 1999, transmitting Resolution No. 53-99, which requests the removal of parking
meter heads within the area affected by Resolution No. 288-98 (parking meter moratorium) in
downtown Hilo for the Council's review and consideration.
Your Committee is not in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 53-99, and
recommends that it be filed.
