COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />305 12 <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br />DONATION OF $4,500 TO THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT TO ASSIST WITH AN ONGOING JOINT <br />STATE/FEDERAL NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION <br />WHEREAS, Western States Information Network (WSIN) wishes to donate <br />$4,500 to the Hawaii County Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds will be used to assist with an ongoing joint <br />state/federal narcotics investigation and; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br />that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br />securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br />and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br />any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br />capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br />resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that <br />cash donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal <br />Resolution process; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the <br />acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br />
