Re: Special Meeting of the Council regarding Nakamoto vs. Kawauchi, et al, Civil No.
12-1-0466 and Ayau vs. Kawauchi, et al, Civil No. 12-1-0467, the appointment of
special counsel, and other matters relating to the above-mentioned lawsuits
Pursuant to Hawaii County Council Rule No. 2(2) I am scheduling a Special Meeting of the
Hawaii County Council on September 25, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Hilo Council Chambers
for the purpose of discussing with the Corporation Counsel the lawsuits filed against Hawaii
County, Dominic Yagong in his individual and official capacity as Council Chairperson,
Jamae Kawauchi in her individual and official capacity as County Clerk and Corporate
Specialized Intelligence and Investigations, LLC.
Time is of the essence as the court has given a deadline of September 25, 2012 to answer the
complaint filed by the plaintiffs.
The Council anticipates entering executive session pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes
Chapter 92-5(a)(4) for the purpose of consulting with the board's attorneys on questions and
issues pertaining to the board's powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities.
