RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-
YEAR LEASE FOR ONE (1) DIGITAL MULTI -FUNCTION COPIER FOR THE
FINANCE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of
more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for
five (5) years, for one (1) digital multi -function copier for the Finance Department to be used
at the Purchasing office in Hilo; and
WHEREAS, the current copier, which is approximately seven (7) years old, has
increasingly frequent needs of repair and is nearing the end of its useful life; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease
agreement for one (1) digital multi -function copier for the Finance
Department.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these copiers shall be leased for a period of five
(5) years, each at a cost not to exceed $334 per month, plus an amount not to exceed
$0.03 for each black and white copy for up to 15,000 copies per month.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor and the Finance Department.
