Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 274,
and attached Bill No. 73, reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 73 is to amend Chapter 24, article 10, division 6, section 24-288,
schedule 36 (Freight loading zones), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983
(1995 Edition), as follows:
Wainaku Street, mauka side, from a point forty-two feet south of Amauulu Street
and extending forty-four feet in the southerly direction."
Communication No. 274 is from Deputy Chief Engineer Jiro A. Sumada, dated April 22, 1999,
transmitting Bill No. 73 for the Council's review and consideration. Mr. Sumada states that the
request for the proposed freight-loading zone will serve the recently opened Wailuku River
Store.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 73, and recommends that it
pass first reading.
