Dear Hawai'i County Council Commissioners:
I would like to thank the council's Finance Committee for their unanimous vote on
RESOLUTION 276-12, in agreement with the precepts and in support of the acquisition of
O'oma Open Space. It is clearly the wisest choice for the protection of the area and for
the benefaction of the general public for guaranteed access and upkeep. I urge the
Council to complete the action the Finance Committee has started in your final approval
vote on the resolution this coming Wednesday, August 1, 2012, explicitly to procure O'oma
as Open Space "in eternum". It is my opinion and experience, there are never regrets for
Open Space planning and acquisitions.
