Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (b), of the Hawaii County Code, which states that a
gift or donation of money, securities, or personal property not covered by the capitalization
procedures (of the Department of Finance) shall be submitted to the Council by letter for its
approval, we request the Council's approval of the following donation:
Supplies valued at $642.15 for use by the Hawaii Fire Department during Fire
Prevention week. These supplies include fire prevention give-away items such as
hats, stickers, magnets and pencils.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Michael Chang, Hilo Fire Extinguisher,
P.O. Box 1206, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Robert Belcher of the Hawai'i Fire
Department at 932-2921.
