Re: Resolution 303-12 : about abolishing Public Land Dev. Corp state

Dear council members,
I am a retired Commander of the US Navy. I served 21 years as a medical
provider.
I support the resolution 303-12 introduced by Brenda Ford.
From everything I have researched and understand, geothermal
development in populated areas is potentially toxic and dangerous in many
ways, including leaks of toxic gasses, potentially creating earthquakes in an
unstable area, contamination of groundwater and oceans, creation and
storage of toxic waste, and the potential for accidents that require massive
evacuations. These things must be studied in detail.
An EIS must be required in every project related to developing geothermal
power. Public input must be required before approving projects.
The Public Land Development Corporation needs to be abolished, as it
is deeply flawed in its conception and execution of its actions, and is likely to
meet many legal challenges.

Aloha, Council person, Please say no the (PLDC)this the mega Coporations that are buying up
our Public lands for dirt cheap and then comming in and building power plants and not having to
abide be the standard rules and regulations like the other people do, this basically criminal and
we will not have any say to what they can do to our public lands. Mahalo for your time and
