I am writing you in support of the proposed subdivision of land by Ms. Prickett and Mr. Waugh for use as
a parking lot and trail to access the Papa'ikou Mill Beach.As a resident of Papa'ikou, I believe this will be
a nearly ideal solution to the troubles surrounding the current beach access trail:The County of Hawaii
will acquire the trail, providing public access to the beach, Mr.Waugh and Ms. Prickett will retain their
private property rights,and the residents will not be impacted by pedestrian and motor traffic along the
narrow Mill road.
I hope that all reasonable council members and community stakeholders will recognize that this solution
is far better than the current resolution proposing an eminent domain action to condemn the current
trail.
