No. 865 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:35 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 865, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 865, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, dated September 27, 2012, <br /> authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Mr. Michael Chang of Hilo Fire Extinguisher, the following <br /> donation: <br /> 1) Supplies valued at$642.15 for use by the Hawai`i Fire Department during Fire Prevention <br /> Week. These supplies include fire prevention give-away items such as hats, stickers, <br /> magnets and pencils. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the County, may <br /> accept gifts or donations of money. Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), Hawaii <br /> County Code, any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department <br /> of Finance shall be submitted to the Council by letter for its approval. <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Michael Chang, Hilo Fire Extinguisher, P.O.
