RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-
YEAR LEASE FOR ONE (1) MULTI -FUNCTION COPIER FOR THE
DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of
more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for
five (5) years, for one (1) multi -function copier for the Department of Research and
Development to be used at their Kona office; and
WHEREAS, the current copier, which is approximately seven (7) years old, has
increasingly frequent needs of repair and is considered as obsolete; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease
agreement for one (1) multi -function copier for the Department of Research
and Development.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this copier shall be leased for a period of five (5)
years, at a cost not to exceed $120 per month, plus an amount not to exceed $0.03 for
each copy in excess of the monthly print allowance.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Department of Research and
Development and the Finance Department.
