To the Hawaii County Council:
I am emailing this testimony to my friend, Jenna Chikasuye, so that she may submit it to
you on my behalf. I apologize that I missed the email-testimony deadline.
I am not able to be at the meeting in Hilo today. I am a small business owner and run a
B&B in Volcano, Volcano Rainforest Retreat. Currently my wife is away, so I am a lot
busier running the place on my own. We have both been Volcano residents for more than
30 years.
I ask you to please overturn Mayor Billy Kenoi's veto of Bill 256 and Bill 257.
I also ask you to give your vote to Dominic Yagong's Resolution 277-12 (Second Draft).
We need clean, renewable, and safe energy. Geothermal with PGV has proven to be
neither clean, safe, nor reliable over the 30 years it's been running. I ask that you, as
elected representatives of the people of the County of Hawai'i, please overturn Billy
Kenoi's vetos and support Bill 256 and Bill 257 to protect Puna's people.
