Dear council members, thank you for taking the time in your lives to be public servants, we
appreciate the hard work you put in =)
I know this is not a simple situation and I want to share my thoughts on geothermal power...
I believe in being self-sufficient and I do not like fossil fuel or nuclear fuel for that reason as
well as the pollution inherent in them.
So, geothermal seems a good alternative in some ways...
>BUT <
We MUST 1. ensure the health and safety of people living near and down wind of the PGV
Power Plant in Leilani. Bill 256 is an example of a step in tis direction, please support it!
AND 2. have an emergency evacuation and response plan specific to PGV drawn up and
put in place. Bill 257 seems to be a step in this direction, please support it, also!
AND consider the cultural ramifications of this... be sensitive to site choices, and consider
replacing the toxic gas pollution of geothermal generation with tidal power =)
