Subject: Please stop G.T.plants!
I cannot believe you are considering building all of these Geo Thermal plants in an area where
people live AND on an island that has an active volcano and on a# 1 Rift Zone. The amount of
money that it will take to accomplish this is absolutely insane. Find a better way! Stop being
greedy and thinking only of yourselves and not those that have previously established homes in
the area you want to develop nor of future generations. Don't let yourself be "bought" by
developers and big businesses.
Think Solar!
Pass the necessary bills to protect people that live in the area of the existing plants and find a
better way besides adding more plants and more risk at too high of a cost.
Bill 256 Renames and redefines the Geothermal Benefits Fund to help fund the health evaluation
and relocate people at risk near the geothermal plant; and Bill 257 requests an emergency
response and evacuation plan to be put in place for those that could be at risk from a geothermal
well blowout. Resolution 277-12 supports an increase in Helco's solar feed in from 15% peak
load to 100%minimum load.
