Aloha Council Chair Yagong,Vice Chair Pilago, and Council Members,
The Public Land Development Corporation (PLDC) will be holding their next Board
Meeting on October 11, 2012 to prepare the PLDC Strategic Plan and the draft PLDC
Administrative Rules for public hearings. These hearings will address the public's
concerns and guide the PLDC's mission, goals, and parameters with regard to our
environment,historic preservation, and land use.
The PLDC can help our communities. We humbly ask that Hawaii County Resolution
303-12 be POSTPONED until after the PLDC's public hearings on the Strategic Plan and
draft Administrative Rules. This will provide the Hawaii County Council and the public
with critical information before making judgments and decision about the PLDC.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 1186 represents
over 3,400 Hawaii members working in electrical construction and telecommunications.
Our members include civil service employees at Pearl Harbor, Kaneohe, Hickam, and at
every military installation in Hawaii. IBEW Local 1186 also represents over 110
signatory electrical contracting companies that perform most of the electrical work in the
state. We thank you for this opportunity to offer our testimony.
