From: Christopher Biltoft[biltoftc @yahoo.com] Sent: Sunday, September 30, 2012 11:20 AM To: counciltestimony @co.hawaii.hi.us Subject: Bill 292 Aloha Council Members: I am contacting you in support of Bill 292 which would restrict Geothermal exploration and production drilling to the ours of 7 am to 7 pm. As our County struggles to accommodate industrial scale geothermal development it is important to consider the health and welfare of residents living in close proximity to these geothermal sites. One of the major complaints is is the low frequency drilling noise and vibrations experienced by residents. The stress induced by these drilling activities is considerable. Bill 292 puts into place a reasonable accommodation that permits 12 hours of daytime drilling while providing a nocturnal respite for weary residents. Thank you for considering my testimony.
