I don't live in Lelani,I live nearby,but I have two very good friends who do, and I am very concerned
for them.
After moving from the mainland they brought their house in Lelani Estate around eight years ago
without any knowledge that there was a Geothermal power plant close by.Being the kind of people
they are they have put a lot of effort and their life savings into creating a comfortable place for
themselves to live in retirement; which by the way includes taking themselves completely off the grid
by outlaying considerable expenditure to install a very efficient and effective solar power system
including their hot water.
They have spent a lot of time planting fruit trees,taking care of the grounds,fencing out pigs and
recently renovating there home on the inside.
They have immersed themselves is the community and both take part in activities that enhance the lives
of others.They are good people who believe in harming no one but helping all,they live their lives
around that philosophy, .... I find that way of being very inspiring.
They live a very healthy lifestyle,eating well and enjoying regular exercise and do not indulge in
putting coffee,tobacco or alcohol into their bodies.
Over the last few years both have begun to suffer ill health.In the last couple of years he has suffered
respiratory issues including at least two bouts of pneumonia one of which was double pneumonia
requiring hospitalization and has also been experiencing ongoing seizure like episodes when sleeping.
She has had bladder and stomach issues which have necessitated her also to require hospitalization on
at least one occasion. These hospital stays have no doubt eaten into their savings I am sure.
After having tests run she has found that her lead levels are off the scale.
Recently I found out that directly beneath their bedroom is a volcanic vent into the earth_
They live just outside the"magic"one mile relocation boundary.
Even though they have put a huge amount of energy into creating the space they desired to live for the
rest of their lives they are now planning to sell their house and move to a safer location away from
PGV, even at the risk of loosing money and having to start again to make a place for themselves to live
comfortably_
Their health in more important to them than bricks and mortar.
Perhaps there house value is less than it was now even with the improvements they have made with all
this talk about the dangers of living near PGV,.eiose to face reality headon.
Anecdotal evidence is strong that PGV is causing ill health to the residents of Lelani and possibly
further afield.
I would like to see witatmonitors say about what is coming up from the vent under my friends
bedroom. Could it be that this is the source of their illnesses?Strangely every seizure like episode that
my friend has suffered has been at night while he is sleeping.

Please do the right thing today and protect this fund for use to relocate those in the one mile zone, lets
have the health studies, lets have the monitors at the right height, close to the ground were the toxins lie
and lets have plenty of them.
Lets do this soon.
