Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 531, and
attached Bill No. 168, reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 168 is to amend Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 4, Section 24-276,
Schedule 24 (Crosswalks) by authorizing the relocation of the existing mid-block crosswalk on
Kamehameha Avenue.
Communication No. 531 is from Deputy Chief Engineer Jiro A. Sumada, dated October 29, 1999,
transmitting Bill No. 168 for the Council's review and consideration. Mr. Sumada states that the
County of Hawaii has coustructed an additional soccer field between Ponahawai Street and Pauahi
Street, and requested that the existing mid-block crosswalk be relocated to an areajust east of the
driveway serving the new soccer tields.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 168, and recommends that it
pass first reading.
