Mayor :'°; �.t;; ,• Acting Director !*R William T.Takaba �L •� Managing Director ° CIuunfg of cizfinti'i DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT 25 Aupuni Street ° Hilo,Hawai'i 96720 (808)961-8083 • Fax(808)961-8086 http://co.hawaii.hi.us/director'/dir envmng.htm MEMORANDUM DATE : October 25, 2012 TO • Kathy Garson, Assistant Corporation Counsel FROM : Dora Beck, P.E., Acting Director, ` SUBJECT: GRANT OF EASEMENT FOR SEWER FACILITIES TAX MAP KEY No. 7-4-008:002 KEAHUOLU, DISTRICT OF NORTH KONA, COUNTY AND STATE OF HAWAII FROM THE TRUSTEES OF THE QUEEN LILI'UOKALANI TRUST The Kealakehe Force Main was installed within property owned by the Queen Lili'uokalani Trust (TMK 7-4-008:002) in 1991 to convey wastewater from the Kealakehe Sewage Pump Station located on TMK 7-5-005:007 in Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i to the Kealakehe Wastewater Treatment Plant located on TMK 7-4-008:058 in Kealakehe, Hawaii. Installation of the infrastructure was accomplished in 1991 utilizing a Construction Right-of-Entry from the managing trustee however, the easement was never finalized and executed. Installation of the force main pipeline, equipment, structures and other related facilities was done by the County in compliance with County standards and the infrastructure is owned and operated by the County. As such, the Department of Environmental Management recommends acceptance of the easement.
