Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 569,
and attached Resolution No. 185-99 reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 185-99 is to authorize the abandonment and disposition of a
portion of the Old Government Road situate at Makapala, North Kohala, Hawaii. This
resolution will also authorize the Finance Director to dispose of same in a manner consistent
with the Hawaii County Code. The property is more specifically identified as Tax Map Key
No. (3) 5-2-08:09.
Communication No. 569 is from Acting Mayor William G. Davis, dated November 17, 1999,
transmitting Resolution No. 185-99, for the Council's review and consideration.
Mr. Glenn Taguchi of the Mayor's Office informed Your Committee that this portion of road
has been quitclaim deeded to the County of Hawaii by the State of Hawaii. Mr. Taguchi
will provide copies of the Quitclaim Deed, Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Order
along with a copy of the Judgment in regards to this transaction for the Council's review.
Councilmembers J. Curtis Tyler and Nancy Pisicchio both voted kanalua two times.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 185-99, and
recommends its adoption.
