CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEM(S) ON THE AGENDA UNFINISHED BUSINESS Comm. 872: AMENDS CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE 5, DIVISION 1, SECTION 25-5-3, OF THE (Bill 316) HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED) TO INCLUDE EGG PRODUCTION FOR HOME CONSUMPTION AS A PERMITTED USE IN SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS Adds item (13)to section 25-5-3(a)to include raising hens (excluding roosters or male chickens) as a permitted use for egg production and home consumption use, with a maximum of four hens per lot. Intr. by: Mr. Ikeda Postponed: October 16, 2012 November 8, 2012 (Note: There is a pending motion by Mr. Ikeda and duly seconded by Mr. Blas to refer Bill 316 to the Planning Director and the Windward and Leeward Planning Commissions.) The amendments would set a minimum (1) side yard setback of 15 feet; (2) backyard setback of 20 feet; (3) lot size of 10,000 square feet; and (4) prohibit enclosures in the front and side yards.
