RESOLUTION NO. 329 12
A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL'S SINCERE
GRATITUDE TO COUNCIL MEMBER BRITTANY SMART, FOR HER YEARS OF
SERVICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Brittany Smart has represented Council District 6, Puna(Kurtistown, Mt.
View, Volcano), Ka`u (Pahala, Na`alehu, Hawaiian Ocean View Estates), and South Kona
(Miloli`i, Ho`okena, and portions of Honaunau) from December of 2010 thru 2012; and
WHEREAS, during these past two years, Council Member Brittany Smart has
participated on all Standing Committees and served as the Chair of the Committee on
Environmental Management, Vice Chair of the Committee on Economic Development and
Mass Transit, Vice Chair of the Committee on Governmental Relations and Alternate
Representative to Hawai`i State Association of Counties; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Brittany Smart has consistently and unwaveringly
demonstrated personal dedication, leadership, integrity, commitment to excellence, and
outstanding public service to her constituents and to the general public throughout the County of
Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Brittany Smart will complete her term of office at Noon
on Monday, December 3, 2012, having compiled an exemplary attendance and voting record for
all Council meetings held during her years in office; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
hereby extends its sincere gratitude to Council Member Brittany Smart for her years of service,
and offers its best wishes for her continued health, success, and prosperity.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawai`i transmit a true
copy of this resolution to Council Member Brittany Smart.
