I am writing in urge the Hawaii County Council to pass Bill 292 amendment to Chapter 14,
General Welfare, Hawai'i County Code, relating to geothermal drilling.
As a nearby resident I can testify to the disturbance , stress and the general loss of well being
caused by the recent 24/7 drilling noise and vibration at Puna Geothermal Ventures.
The noise is much louder then the officials at PVG would like you to believe, their self interest
are again being put ahead of the residents rights to live peacefully in their own home. We must
establish standards of care and protection for the people of Hawaii Island. Puna is not a potential
resource for those whose goal is to generate profit no matter the human cost. There are thousands
of people have made Puna their home and we deserve to have our way of life not only protected
but most importantly acknowledged.
