Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 650, and
attached Bill No. 200, reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 200 is to amend Chapter 24 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995
Edition), to extend the no pazking zone by removing two parking stalls on Kinoole Street.
Communication No. 650 is from Deputy Chief Engineer Jiro A. Sumada, dated February 1, 2000,
transmitting Bill No. 200 for the Council's review and consideration. Mr. Sumada states that the
Hawaii County Police Department has requested the existing no pazking zone on the makai side of
Kinoole Street at Mamo Street be extended by removing two parking stalls. The purpose is to
provide additional sight distance at this intersection.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 200, and recommends that it
pass first reading.
