Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Michael B. Sumja of Council District 9, to the County of
Hawaii Salary Commission. He is a 14-year resident of Hawaii. From 1970 to 1990,
Mr. Sumja was employed by Lee, Jackson & Bowe as a consultant and CEO. He is
presently retired.
Mr. Sumja is a member of the North Hawai'i Drug Free Coalition. He is a former
member of the Hawai'i County Tax Board of Review and Police Commission. Mr.
Sumja states that he is a Democrat. If confirmed, he will serve a term to end on
December 31, 2014.
