Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Dean Au of Council District 4 to the County of Hawaii
Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission. Mr. Au
is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. He is a carpenter, presently employed by the Hawai'i
Carpenter's Union.
Mr. Au is a member of the St. Joseph School Board, and is the Hilo Apprenticeship
Coordinator for the Carpenter's Union. He volunteers as a youth basketball and track
and field coach. Mr. Au states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, he will serve a term that expires on December 31, 2017.
