Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 7, reports as follows:
Bill No. 7, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 21, dated
December 4, 2012, amends Ordinance No. 12-86, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013. The amendment is as follows:

010.3302.03 Federal Grants—Speed Enforcement Grant General $ 2,991
To:
010.201.5219.44 Speed Enforcement Grant General $ 2,991
The State Department of Transportation Public Affairs - Safe Community Program is providing funds to
the Hawai`i County Police Department for the purchase of two additional Stealth Speed Data Collector
units.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent of the
Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken
pursuant to any powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance
connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
There was no discussion on this measure.

passage on first reading.
