Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of$1,500 from Hilo Wal-Mart, 325 E.
Maka'ala Street, Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 to the Hawai`i County Fire Department. This money will
be used by the Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Bureau to help purchase
EMS tablet computers.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This donation was given to support the Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Bureau.
These funds are to help pay for EMS tablet computers for these operations, which will provide critically
needed mobile computer devices.
The EMS Bureau is directly aligned with the Emergency Operations Division and provides program support
and coordination. The coordination of training for Emergency Medical Technicians and Mobile Intensive
Care Technicians is one the essential functions carried out by the EMS Bureau. In addition the EMS
Bureau participates in the development of recommendations relating to program budgets, equipment
acquisition, policy, and procedure establishment and also acts as the department's liaison with the many
health care agencies of our community. This donation will help the Bureau provide adequate computers for
the Bureau personnel to be used in performing their critical functions.
