Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement to accept the donation of
the North Kohala Courthouse, situated at Kapa'au, in the District of North Kohala. This land,
identified by Tax Map Key: (3)5-4-005-001, was conveyed to the County of Hawai`i from Kohala
Sugar Company by deed recorded on March 31, 1920. Subsequently, in or about 1975, the
Judiciary, State of Hawai`i, built the North Kohala Courthouse on this property. Judiciary, now
wishes to convey this building and all associated improvements to the County of Hawai`i. The
Department of Parks and Recreation will accept this building for use in conjunction with its present
facility located on the adjacent parcel.
