No. 6/Bill No. 2 PLACE: Council Chambers Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i TIME: 1:00 p.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 2, reports as follows: Bill No. 2, transmitted by Mayor Billy Kenoi, via Communication No. 6, dated November 20, 2012, amends Section 25-8-11 (Lalamilo-Pu`ukapu Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), by changing the District Classification from Agricultural—forty acres (A-40a) to Residential and Agricultural— 0.5 acres (RA-.5) at Pu'ukapu Homesteads 1St, South Kohala, Hawai`i, covered by tax map key 6-4-001:099. The Mayor is transmitting the above bill and enclosures, with a favorable recommendation from the Leeward Planning Commission. The applicant wishes to subdivide the property into two residential/agricultural lots and convey the new lot to her son. The applicant was represented by her daughter Keiko Bonk who testified that the property in question is surrounded by '/A acre lots and that this request will be consistent with the rest of the area. Ms. Bonk also stated that the new parcel will house farm related structures and be used for farm related activities by her brother who will be expanding currently existing farming operations occurring on a separate parcel across the street.
