Re: Joint Use Agreement with the State of Hawaii.
I am pleased to transmit to you for your approval a
final draft of a joint use agreement to be entered into
by the County of Hawaii with the State of Hawaii.
The agreement calls for cooperation between the two
levels of government in the use of recreational grounds,
facilities and equipment under their respective juris-
dictions ; and thereby promises to ensure the more effective
and beneficial utilization of our public facilities by
our island residents .
The agreement is without precedent and it is hoped that
it will serve as a model upon which like agreements by
other counties will be based.
In order to expedite matters, I have taken the liberty
of having the Corporation Counsel ' s Office prepare a re-
solution on the agreement, the same being attached herewith.
