Dear County Council,
I can't believe that, in this country,the government would allow a business to build a noisy
factory in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. It so sad hearing the neighbors testify about
how it's upset their lives and worrisome that it may expand to affect my family,4 miles away
from PGV. It should be stopped immediately. It is pathetic that they have to beg to restrict
drilling hours to be 7:00 a.m.to 7:00 p.m.
The basic facts you should know are:
• Geothermal drilling produces low frequency noise which creates stress on anyone near it.
• it is unfair for a company to subject neighbors to this noise day and night so that they can
save money.
• The night-time noise interferes with evening time at home and sleep, which affects children
and adults alike.
• PGV's permits say they must comply with all local ordinances. Their current permits do not
allow them to ignore the law,despite what their lawyers say.
• It is the responsibility of the Council to protect the health and safety of Hawaii County
citizens.
