NANAWALE ESTATES
From Richard A. Jackson, President, Nanawale Community
Association, Inc . , dated May 21, 1975, requesting the
assistance of the Council to cut back two high stone
embankments at the corner of Nanawale Boulevard and
Kehau Road in Nanawale Estates so that motorists may
have a clearer view of oncoming traffic :
Approve request and refer to the
administration for implementation.

Amends the salary ordinance for the Department of
Public Works (Bureau of Building Construction and
Inspection, Bureau of Plans and Surveys) :
Approve and recommend adoption.
ORDINANCE
'Bill 137 : COUNTY HOUSING AGENCY
Amends Chapter 2, Article 5, of the Hawaii County
Code, establishing a County Housing Agency in the
County of Hawaii :

Approve and recommend adoption on
second and final reading.
RECOMMENDATION
1<< . No . 1: COUNTY HOUSING AGENCY (BILL 137)
Request an opinion from the Corporation Counsel prior
to the next Council meeting on the following:
(1) Would the County Council be serving in the capacity
of Board or Commission.
(2) If so, is there a violation to the Charter's
separation of powers?
(3 ) By having the County Council serve as members of
the County Housing Agency, would this not be in
conflict with the provisions of Section 13-4,
Boards and Commissions, of the Hawaii County Charter?
(4) In order to take advantage of Federal funding, could
the County Council act as an Interim Agency until
the above questions have been answered?
