Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 33-13, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 33-13, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 56,
dated December 21, 2012, authorizes the acceptance of a monetary donation of$1,500 to the Hawai`i
County Fire Department. These funds, donated by Hilo Wal-Mart, will help the Fire Department's
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Bureau to help purchase EMS tablet computers.
Ms. Ford and Mr. Kern thanked Hilo Wal-Mart for their continuous monetary donations.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawai`i County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the County,
may accept gifts or donations of money.
A letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution will be sent to Hilo Wal-Mart, 325 E. Maka'ala
Street, Hilo, Hawai`i 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 33-13, and
recommends its adoption.
